The Lower Similkameen Indian Band, located in the heart of the Similkameen Valley of the South Central Interior region of British Columbia, is pleased to invite qualified applicants to apply for the permanent, full-time Education Assistant position at the Ntamtqen snma?maya?tn School.

The Ntamtqen snma?maya?tn School offers elementary grades (full-time kindergarten to grade seven), with a vision of combining tradition with modern educational tactics to provide our children with a comprehensive future. The Education Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher and students in developing strategies to achieve academic, behavioral, and social goals as needed. Support services will be provided to pupils with special needs who may require direct physical assistance.

Education and Experience

• Completion of grade 12 or GED;
• Education Assistant Certification;
• Recent related experience working with school-age children in a classroom setting;
• Experience teaching in multi-graded classrooms is an asset;
• Level 1 FoodSafe certificate;
• Clean criminal record check required;
• Valid standard first aid and CPR certificates;
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
