Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. This includes conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, facilities, and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis, and other water filtration systems. The Technician works with operators, supervisors, and senior mechanics to resolve issues and proposes solutions to complex problems.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara’s procedures.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Fill in for production operators as needed.
  • Create and report repair activities, complete work order documentation.
  • Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and safe lifting practices.
  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar environment, including managing people/projects.
  • Effective communication skills across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to read schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop tools and precise measurement equipment.
  • Willing to serve as a technical leader and trainer.
  • Own basic tools and toolbox.

Preferred qualifications include 6+ years’ experience in manufacturing, familiarity with specific technologies (VFDs, servo drives, PLCs), and experience with relevant equipment (Krones, Husky, HVAC systems).

Education & Certification
  • Minimum: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in manufacturing or related field.
  • Certifications: Not required.
Compensation

Hourly pay range: $31.01 - $44.97, primarily for Los Angeles County applicants. Employment is contingent on compliance with local laws regarding background checks.
