POSITION: Facilities Manager

COMPANY: Amer Sports Canada Inc.

LOCATION: Belleville, ON

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Distribution & IT Operations, the Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance, security and safety of the facility, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring Proper security at all facilities. Work directly with outside security companies, First contact of emergency calls from security monitoring companies. Set security for all buildings: maintain security Fobs for employees; ensures secure and safe work environment.
  • Schedule, monitor and report regular maintenance activities related to all areas of the building. Including, but not limited to automation, MHE, offices, overall building and grounds.
  • Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas of warehouse and office areas. Hire outside cleaning services to maintain cleanliness of all offices, break rooms, and other areas of the buildings.
  • Monitor grounds maintenance contractors to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the exterior property.
  • Assist in the hiring of technicians as well as maintenance personnel to support overall warehouse operations
  • Oversee all third-party contractors on-site, ensuring proper safety and insurance documentation is received in advance
  • Collaborate with building owners and other outside contracts on building maintenances needs.
  • Work directly with outside contractors for any new changes. Set installation schedules. Work with managers to coordinate possible interruptions.
  • Coach and train employees on maintenance responsibilities.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive ESG (environmental, sustainability & governance) recycling program.
  • Managing the purchasing of warehouse shipping supplies. This includes all boxes, labels, tape, other packing supplies, all office supplies. Ensuring we have proper supplies at time of need.
  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hire and manage technicians and maintenance personnel. Ensure maintenance is available during operating hours. Train in all aspects of the facility operations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Post secondary education
  • 2-3 years of experience with facility maintenance and management, Warehouse or Distribution Center management a plus;
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Mechanical skills preferred
  • Dedicated attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Progressive experience in a fast-paced, high volume distribution operation;
  • Previous experience with warehouse automation technologies a plus,
  • Formal education or equivalent experience in warehouse operations, logistics or other related fields
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools a plus
  • Basic business finance knowledge
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of SAP WMS a plus
