Job Summary

Avenir Energy is looking for a 310T Apprentice Truck Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. You’ll play a key part in keeping our fleet safe, efficient, and fully operational while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. If you're a registered apprentice or licensed technician who takes pride in quality work and solving mechanical problems, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct comprehensive repairs on gas and diesel engines, as well as truck systems and components
  • Complete emergency roadside repairs when required
  • Examine and adjust safety-related components including guards, bolts, and protective systems
  • Submit accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Avenir’s Health and Safety Policy
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Stay current through ongoing technical training and review of factory service bulletins
  • Tag and retain parts when applicable under warranty guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
  • Registered Apprentice (310T), preferably in the first or second year
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and best practices related to heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools and systems
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
  • High attention to safety and efficiency in all work practices
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; AZ or DZ license is an asset
  • SAP experience is an asset
