Job description

Our Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.

As an Apprentice Technician, Heavy Equipment YOU will experience:

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for our customers in a timely and economical manner
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure our internal and external customer needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner in a positive, engaging environment of teamwork, career development and lifelong learning for opportunities across our business.
Must-haves for this role:

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Currently enrolled, or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Technician program
