Key Responsibilities

1. Area 1: Produce mining, drill & blast, and infrastructure designs.
2. Coordinate inputs from Exploration, Geology, Mine Operations, and Mill Operations to develop effective plans and designs.
3. Develop mine plans and designs aligned with industry best practices.
4. Run pit optimization and simulation tools; interpret results.
5. Assist in developing business case scenarios and LOM optimization.
6. Produce and update daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly bench design plans and change registers.
7. Create mine layouts, drill and blast layouts, and drawings.
8. Coordinate survey activities with surveyors and technicians.
9. Evaluate trade-offs and recommend solutions.
10. Prepare reports on technical recommendations and mine plan improvements.
11. Perform other duties as needed (reporting, budgeting, projects).

1. Area 2: Produce short, medium, and long-term mine schedules.
2. Translate stakeholder inputs into schedules and Gantt charts.
3. Maintain and forecast production and scheduling activities.
4. Implement best practices in planning.
5. Guide daily field follow-ups and ensure plan compliance.
6. Adjust plans based on survey, drill, blast, MineStar, and geology data.
7. Monitor progress, compliance, and report on completed work.
8. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

1. Area 3: Collaborate to deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
2. Implement best-in-class practices and leverage automated mining systems.
3. Propose new methods to address engineering challenges.
4. Refine designs to address constraints cost-effectively.
5. Stay informed of trends and share knowledge.
6. Suggest policies and methods to optimize performance and ensure compliance.
7. Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
8. Conduct research and benchmarking to support decision-making and technological advancements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in Mine Engineering or related field.
• Registration as an Engineer in Ontario (PEO).

Work Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in open pit mining is an asset.
