Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will join the Mining team, based in Sudbury, North Bay, Thunder Bay, Hamilton, or Brampton offices.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Perform engineering calculations and models for assessments such as seepage, stability, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, erosion, geochemistry, and statistics.
• Assist project leaders with scope, cost, and schedule delivery.
• Prepare technical specifications based on multidisciplinary input.
• Plan and execute field exploration programs, including soil boring, test pit logging, well installation, and sampling.
• Contribute to engineering and capital cost estimates.
• Review work prepared by junior and intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists.
• Manage projects related to capital and maintenance activities.
• Conduct construction observation and quality assurance for Geosynthetics or Earthworks on large projects.
• Develop reports to support design and construction documentation.
• Create grading plans and designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in writing reports, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical review.

What Your Experience Looks Like

• Degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for PEO registration.
• At least 10 years of civil engineering design experience in mining or industrial projects.
• Experience in site development, hydraulics, and mine access road design.
• Experience with tailings/slurry piping is an asset.
• Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, and joining methods.
• Experience in stormwater management and runoff calculations.
• Understanding of survey controls and coordinate systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply geotechnical recommendations.
• Proficiency in technical report writing, specifications, and cost estimation.
• Experience in procurement and contract evaluation.
• Strong organizational, technical, communication, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of civil design standards, codes, and regulations.
