Job summary

Fraser Health Authority in British Columbia seeks an experienced Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to deliver and coordinate Electroconvulsive Therapy within the IPU, aligned with BC practices and Fraser Health standards.

You will assess patients, coordinate treatment bookings, educate families, and collaborate with psychiatrists, anesthesiologists, and care teams to ensure safe, person-centered care throughout the ECT course.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with BCCNM.

Responsibilities

• Assess pre- and post-ECT patients and coordinate care with the interprofessional team.
• Review referrals and coordinate scheduling for ECT treatments.
• Arrange pre-ECT anesthesia consults and necessary investigations.
• Provide patient and family education about ECT and care plans.
• Support transfer of care back to the assigned nurse on return to IPU.
