Position Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to support patient care. They participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations and are key in delivering superior customer service.

What you'll do

1. Receiving prescriptions: From patients, following legal/regulatory conditions, assessing for completeness (Name, Address, DOB, Allergies, 3rd Party Info, Special Requests, Prescriber, Generic/Brand, Prioritizing Prescriptions with 21st Century Guidelines).
2. Performing Computer Functions: Data Entry, Price Check, Patient Info Updates, interpreting prescriptions, refills, report generation, patient profile checks.
3. Filling prescriptions: Under Pharmacist supervision, selecting products, accuracy checks, labeling, organization, approvals for verbal refills, and facilitating Cognitive Services.
4. Maintaining Inventory Control: Managing stock levels, checking for expired medications, organizing returns, ordering supplies, using wholesaler resources, operating Telxon gun, and maintaining drug knowledge.
5. General Housekeeping: Stocking supplies, cleaning, organizing, maintaining equipment and work environment.
6. Clerical Organization: Filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and supporting administrative functions.
7. OTC Operations and Other Duties: Assisting with OTC stock, cashier duties, as assigned.
