Job description

The Pharmacy Support Assistant is an exciting opportunity to join a new pharmacy support team within Pharmacy Operations. The aim of this team is to enhance our pharmacy’s daily operations by delegating tasks that can be performed remotely. The role involves supporting pharmacy functions by tracking patient medication deliveries and confirming successful reception, with potential expansion into additional pharmacy tasks. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, teamwork, and multitasking ability. It may involve shift work, is remote, and reports to the Pharmacy Support Supervisor.

How you will make an impact

  1. Manage administrative duties, maintaining effective communication with pharmacies, couriers, and patients via email/phone, and documenting all interactions.
  2. Track pharmacy deliveries, collaborate with couriers and patients to monitor, follow-up, and resolve delivery issues, ensuring receipt within the required timeframe.
  3. Work with the originating pharmacy to maintain cold chain integrity and patient dose schedules, providing follow-up if issues arise.
  4. Follow up efficiently and document confirmation of delivery reception.
  5. Provide exemplary patient-centered care in all stakeholder interactions.
  6. Complete and submit documentation such as Incident Reports, Adverse Event Reports, and Product Quality Complaints according to SOP timelines.
  7. Potentially support other pharmacy activities remotely as the role develops.
  8. Report any patient safety concerns as required.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
