Base pay range: CA$60,000.00 / yr - CA$65,000.00 / yr

Description :

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes with accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality. This role ensures timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, maintains up-to-date records of all financial transactions, and plays a key role in maintaining positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities :
  1. Process all entities' invoices accurately and on time.
  2. Process employee expense reports and ensure adherence to company policies.
  3. Prepare credit card reconciliations for separate business units and assist with intercompany chargebacks.
  4. Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments (EFT, wire transfers, cheques).
  5. Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable files and records.
  6. Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and respond to inquiries.
  7. Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all expenses are recorded in the correct period.
  8. Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment status and resolve issues as they arise.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  11. Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  12. Assist with other duties, as assigned.
Requirements :
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Lone Wolf) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
