Job description

Our welcoming private seniors' residence, Le Bois-de-Boulogne, located in the Montreal area, is offering a permanent, full-time position for a Head Chef.

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

A chef, sous-chef, or cook looking to grow! Come create and play with flavors, textures, and presentations in a pleasant work environment offering a stable schedule with daytime shifts only. We're looking for someone who wants to have fun and introduce their meals to our residents.

Of course, it's a good challenge! The candidate will be responsible for food management for a large volume of meals per day. The candidate will also be responsible for scheduling and managing kitchen and dining room staff. Experience in a seniors' residence is an asset.

Schedule : Full-time, permanent, daytime, every other weekend.

Salary : To be discussed

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Assist in maintaining and restoring residents' health by proposing customized and balanced menus
  2. Create tasty menus while respecting the expected level of quality and the allocated budget
  3. Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
  4. Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and the workspace
  5. Perform meal preparation while supervising and mobilizing staff in the kitchen
  6. Perform other related duties
  7. Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
  8. Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene, and cleanliness rules and standards in effect
  9. Use work methods consistent with the health and safety rules and cleanliness standards in effect
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :
  1. Training certification (MAPAQ)
  2. A professional studies diploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivalent
  3. At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a large restaurant
