Position Purpose
The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and expanding a designated sales region, with some maintenance. You will be assigned a territory to sell our portfolio of products and services. Success depends on onboarding new customers and increasing gross profit weekly at each store.
This is a field/on-the-road sales role requiring at least 80% travel across Saskatchewan, with possible overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Grow sales and profit margins by analyzing customer needs
- Prospect and onboard new customer accounts
- Educate customers on promotions, programs, policies, and industry activities, ensuring compliance
- Conduct sales presentations with samples and new product promotions
- Execute sales strategy and manage territory with a tailored approach
- Inspect customer product sections and displays, update shelf tags
- Build personal relationships to better understand customer needs
- Review reports with store managers and identify opportunities
- Monitor accounts for credit compliance and follow up on issues
- Stay aware of pricing trends to remain competitive
- Communicate product line or market changes to customers and Core-Mark
- Assist with merchandise returns
- Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
- Proven success in closing sales across product lines
- Detail-oriented and organized, able to work independently
- Experience in sales ledger management and effective time management
- Strong communication and presentation skills for professional customer interactions
- Solutions-oriented with analytical skills
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Energetic, entrepreneurial spirit
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, cold-chain integrity, and Serv-Safe certification
