Job Description: Field Quality Inspectors

Bird, a leader in Canadian construction for over 100 years, is seeking Field Quality Inspectors to support various upcoming projects throughout Western Canada. Join our dynamic team of over 5,000 professionals dedicated to building infrastructure that shapes Canada's skylines and communities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Code and client specifications on site.
• Read and interpret engineer’s drawings such as P&ID's and isometric drawings.
• Review documentation of third-party records including NDE and MTRs.
• Create and maintain inspection records, reports, logs, test packages, and turnover documentation.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds, perform dimensional verification, weld mapping, and update Red Line Drawings.
• Prepare Pressure Test Packages and witness testing procedures.
• Verify Material Traceability, including recording welds and heat numbers.
• Ensure compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Assist in assembling turnover documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NDE processes, ASME B31.3, and CSA Codes.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in computer programs such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in Industrial Mechanical Construction and Quality Control.
• Additional knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical, formwork, concrete, structural steel, architectural, or infrastructure is an asset.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships within the project team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
