Who We Are: Alstar Group has been providing quality construction services to the oil and gas industry since 1969. Located in Calgary, with projects throughout Western Canada, we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turn-key new construction, maintenance, and prefabrication and modular construction services.

Position: We are currently seeking a Weekday Shift Shop QA/QC Inspector in our fabrication shop in SE (8700 Venture Ave SE, not transit-accessible).

• Ability to review documentation for errors, discrepancies, and missing information

• Strong problem identification and resolution skills

Accountabilities:

• Possess CWB Level 1 Certification
• Have 2+ years previous Quality Control experience
• Hold CSTS-09/2020 ticket or Common Safety Orientation ticket
• Understand ASME and CSA codes and practices
• Show a proven commitment to safety
• Use tools and equipment safely
• Complete dimension and visual inspections of welded piping and structural steel
• Record weld symbols, heat numbers, and radiography numbers on drawings and travel sheets
• Prepare documentation and inspect hydrostatic & pneumatic pressure tests
• Install name plates, coordinate inspections with ABSA, NDE Contractors, and Client TPI's
• Complete Quality Control paperwork
• Work safely in a manufacturing environment with other trades present
• Perform outside/inside work, sometimes in inclement weather
• Meet physical demands, including lifting up to 60 lbs, working at heights, and navigating equipment and ladders
• Experience in welding and ASME equipment and piping is an asset
