Who We Are: Alstar Group has been providing quality construction services to the oil and gas industry since 1969. Located in Calgary, with projects throughout Western Canada, we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turn-key new construction, maintenance, and prefabrication and modular construction services.

We are currently seeking a Weekday Shift Shop QA/QC Inspector to join our Field team.

• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Flexible to learn new tasks or different client expectations
• Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to review numerous types of documentation for errors, discrepancies, and missing information
• Highly motivated and self-directed
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

Accountabilities:

• Possess CWB Level 1 Certification
• Have 2+ years previous Quality Control experience
• Have CSTS-09/2020 ticket or Common Safety Orientation ticket
• Have a solid understanding of ASME and CSA codes and practices
• Show a proven commitment to Safety
• Have the ability to use tools and equipment safely
• Commitment to safety and adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
• Complete dimension and visual inspections of welded piping and structural steel
• Record welders symbols, heat numbers, and radiography numbers on drawings and travel sheets
• Prepare documentation for, and inspect hydrostatic & pneumatic pressure tests
• Install name plates, coordinate inspections with ABSA, NDE Contractors, and Client TPI's
• Complete Quality Control paperwork
• Be able to work in a manufacturing facility with other trades present
• Have the ability to perform outside/inside work, sometimes in inclement weather conditions
• Meet the physical demands of the position
• Be able to lift up to 60lbs, work at heights, be agile, and able to go on/off equipment, up/down ladders
• Experience in welding and ASME equipment and piping is an asset
