Human Resources Manager | People & Culture Leader

Fero International is a modular construction company based in Stoney Creek, Ontario. In our 300,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that was purpose-built for modular, we design and manufacture volumetric modular buildings for diverse markets across Canada, including healthcare, education, housing, commercial and industrial. Our modular solutions reduce construction time, improve quality control, and promote sustainable building practices.

Position Overview

The proposal writer will be responsible for developing high-quality, compelling proposals for public and private sector RFPs and tenders. You will own project management of the proposal process by adhering to timelines and driving continuous communication amongst stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and own the proposal strategy of assigned RFP/tenders by thorough review of the tender documents and understanding the buyer’s needs, and creating customized proposals tailored to the decision makers.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to refine technical content, strategy/messaging to best position Fero to project award.
• Assign responsibility while driving continuous communication and meeting all deadlines.
• Identify and remove barriers to progress, escalating issues as needed.
• Work with our Marketing and Communications specialist to develop innovative and creative proposal presentations to increase our likelihood of winning proposals.
• Participate in client discussions and follow-up from client on submissions, as a knowledgeable partner and ambassador of our business and product capabilities.
• Thoroughly review, edit for accuracy and clarity and incorporate approved revisions.
• Participate and play an active role in regular meetings to share best practices, information, problem solving and lessons learned.
• The proposal writer is expected to be a generator of best-in-class proposals and best practices that can serve as a model for other members of the sales team.
• Track all proposal information required to develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, ensuring data is accurate and updated real-time.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in reading and responding to Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and developing written proposals / bid submissions that effectively respond to detailed requirements.
• Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, English, Writing, or equivalent field of study.
• Exceptional business writing, editing and proof-reading skills, along with oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines.
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office products with strong Word proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and adhere to deadlines.
