Job description

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Property Accountant to join a well-established developer-builder with a diverse commercial and industrial real estate portfolio. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to take ownership of property-level financials and work closely with internal teams in a collaborative environment.

You’ll be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of income properties, including monthly reporting, budgeting, and operating cost reconciliations. The role is hands-on and well-suited for someone who enjoys both the technical and interpersonal sides of accounting, with regular interaction across property management, leasing, and finance teams.

Responsibilities :

Manage full-cycle accounting and monthly reporting for a portfolio of income properties

Prepare annual budgets, variance reports, and tenant operating cost reconciliations

Coordinate tenant chargebacks, fixed asset entries, and rent roll reviews

Track intercompany transactions, working capital, and investor distributions

Support treasury and financing processes as needed

Ensure compliance with GAAP and support internal controls and process improvements

Assist with ad hoc projects and year-end reporting

Qualifications :

4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in a real estate or property management environment

CPA designation or actively pursuing

Strong knowledge of Yardi and Microsoft Excel

Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
