Division : Nucor Insulated Panel Group

Location : Eastern Canada

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead the market development activities of the Nucor Insulated Panel Group with architects, designers, engineers, and owners. The BDM is responsible for direct promotion of insulated panels to architectural firms, engineering firms, design-build firms, and targeted owners/developers. The BDM conducts research and creates targeted activities to align efforts with growth initiatives to support NIPG brands in the market. The BDM conducts lunch and learns with the targeted customer base, attends and presents NIPG products at local, regional, and national tradeshows and CSC events. Travel within geographically assigned markets is required to develop basis of design specifications. The BDM provides follow-up on all leads generated through marketing efforts and supports pipeline management activities using Microsoft Dynamics CRM, actively communicating with our brand's sales teams. This position oversees the Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island demographics. Maintaining the highest standards of service through professional and responsive communication is essential. The BDM also collects and communicates market intelligence and trends, thrives in a competitive atmosphere, and maintains a strong focus on customer support and education.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. 5+ years of experience in a professional sales role with experience in architecture, engineering, or design.
  2. Builds customer relationships by delivering clear and impactful messages, building trust, managing customer priorities, and influencing outcomes.
  3. Business acumen with general business knowledge and understanding of how Nucor makes money.
  4. Knowledge of business development tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs.
  5. Effective communication skills to ensure understanding.
  6. Knowledge of customer service principles and processes, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation.
  7. Ability to develop and build teams, encouraging mutual trust, respect, and cooperation, as well as managing and resolving conflicts.
  8. Initiative and innovation, proactively seeking work and introducing new ideas for continuous improvement.
  9. Leadership presence and courage to have direct conversations on critical issues, facing adversity and conflict head-on.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues and develop solutions.
  11. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including promotion, product demonstration, and sales techniques.
  12. Understanding of sales and specification processes, thriving on direct promotion to architects, building owners, engineering firms, and contractors.
  13. Experience driving opportunities through the sales pipeline from inception to close.
  14. Preferred knowledge of CSI MasterSpec and CSI procedures.
  15. A combination of technical and interpersonal skill sets.
