Our client, regarded by many including ourselves as the number one Mechanical Construction Contractor in Ontario, is currently looking to expand their team due to upcoming retirements.

The position they are looking to fill is for a Mechanical Service Manager – HVAC.

They are involved in numerous large-scale, complex construction projects within the ICI sector, with an emphasis on Commercial, Hospitals, Educational, and P & Institutional facilities.

The successful candidate must have the ability to develop strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external clients to positively influence others and drive results. Experience in HVAC service, plumbing, maintenance, with knowledge of components and units, work orders, quotations, tenders, and billing is essential.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, capable of proactively multitasking and managing multiple priorities. Strong leadership skills are required, with the ability to lead projects and make timely decisions to achieve desired outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS:

As a Mechanical Service Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and achieving project targets and milestones to deliver mechanical construction and service projects on time and within budget.
• Promoting and leading health and safety initiatives.
• Monitoring and providing status updates on work progress, forecasts, cost control, and project schedules.
• Proactively identifying potential problems or delays and bringing them to management's attention.
• Ensuring accurate project forecasting through follow-up.
• Monitoring critical path activities and advising the project team accordingly.
• Reviewing and managing short interval planning.
• Coordinating with site supervision on labor and manpower progress, and addressing obstacles to success.
• Managing project documentation, change orders, equipment and material deliveries, site meetings, and progress reports.
• Providing regular feedback, coaching, and training to project team members.
• Building strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and engineers to contribute positively to project success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with a minimum of five years' construction project management experience; trade experience is a plus.
• Sheet Metal Qualification will also be considered.
• Experience managing large-scale mechanical projects in commercial and institutional sectors.
