Job Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Manager) will oversee contractual aspects of projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and risk mitigation. The role involves working closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to manage change orders and conduct commercial negotiations.

• Manage a team of Project Coordinators
• Handle Change Orders
• Manage claims and potential disputes to protect commercial interests
• Identify and implement strategies for profit enhancement
• Ensure contract compliance
• Oversee contract negotiations
• Serve as a resource for the team regarding contract clauses

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a project role within a mid-size to large general contractor
• University degree in a construction-related field or equivalent
• Experience with major projects (valued at $1B or more)
• Knowledge of construction industry trends and regulations
• Proficiency in cost estimation, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting
• Strong mentorship and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel locally as required
• Entrepreneurial mindset with high self-awareness and personal values
• Solid understanding of construction trades, safety, and techniques
