Fortinet IT Support Engineer - Ottawa, ON

Fortinet's IT team in Ottawa is expanding and seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team on secure, cutting-edge IT systems and to assist end users. It also provides exposure to a broad range of technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to Fortinet's internal users via email, phone, tickets, and in person for issues related to computer systems, networks, IP phones, software, and hardware.
• Install, modify, and repair hardware and software.
• Create phone extensions and configure IP phones.
• Resolve issues with LAN, wireless networks, VPNs, and IP phone systems.
• Design and implement network architectures, and install/configure network devices.
• Configure, encrypt, and troubleshoot Linux, Windows, and MacOS desktops and laptops.
• Manage user accounts and permissions within business systems.
• Respond to tickets and requests within defined service level agreements.
• Collaborate with IT team members to resolve employee issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VoIP, Exchange, Linux, MacOS, and Windows.
• Experience with hardware/software installation and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and servers.
• Responsive and helpful, with the ability to prioritize issues.
• Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Degree in Computer Systems, IT, Networking, or related fields.
• Certifications like CCNA/CCNP or RHCSA/RHCE are assets.
