Fortinet IT Support Engineer

Fortinet's IT team in Ottawa is expanding and seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a talented team working on advanced, secure IT systems and assisting end users. It provides exposure to a wide range of technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to internal users via email, phone, tickets, and in-person for issues related to computer systems, networks, IP phones, software, and hardware.
• Install, modify, and repair hardware and software.
• Create phone extensions and configure IP phones.
• Resolve issues with LAN, wireless networks, VPNs, and IP phone systems.
• Assist in designing and implementing network architectures, including installing and configuring network devices.
• Configure, encrypt, and troubleshoot Linux, Windows, and MacOS desktops and laptops.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Respond to tickets and requests within service level agreements.
• Collaborate with IT team members to ensure timely resolution of employee issues.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VoIP, Exchange, Linux, MacOS, and Windows.
• Experience with hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
• Responsive and helpful, with the ability to prioritize issues.
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
• Willingness to learn.
• Degree in Computer Systems, IT, Networking, or related fields.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, RHCSA/RHCE are assets.
