Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Department in achieving their targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in the maintenance department and ensure continuous improvement
  • Implementation of best practices and compliance in the execution
  • Direct responsibilities for packaging technical issues and six-sigma problem solving
  • Leader of Equipment Transformations, as part of strategic planning (ATO Factor)
  • Support the coordination / prioritization of operations team member technical upskilling
  • Actively coaching and mentoring plant personnel to increase expertise
  • Responsible for ensuring the Maintenance Recipes and Equipment reliability plans are well understood and executed
  • Supporting Capex (capital expenditure) plan and building economic business cases as required
  • Providing support to packaging for improving cross departmental KPI’s such as reducing consumer complaints, reducing total purchased energy, consistent packaging quality, reducing packaging extract loss
  • Updates to the Maintenance Reporting System (SAP) and providing training to team members as required
  • Ownership of the maintenance budgeting and spend process for Can and Keg Lines
  • Working directly with the brewery Maintenance Improvement Manager to ensure alignment and calibration of expectations for Maintenance planning and execution.
  • Directly collaborating day to day with technicians and additional technical support contractors
  • Assurance of equipment reliability; preventative and continual maintenance

Job Qualifications

  • University Degree - Mechanical Engineering or Science with a technical background preferred
  • 5 years of experience managing maintenance best practices, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of packaging, maintenance, utilities, health and safety is an asset
  • Experience with coaching and training employees in a unionized environment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical / electrical controls and automation systems
  • Sound analytical skills to develop / understand business cases
  • Financial Acumen – Budgeting and Communication Execution plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
