This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and / or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province.

Responsible for the coordination and completion of strategic IT projects related to eHealth modernization within the Consumer eHealth unit, which is primarily responsible for implementing Albertan-facing services including the MyHealth Records program. Oversees all aspects of project management including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and reporting on project progress. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, other departments including Provincial Health Agencies, and external stakeholders involved in projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of projects.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or certificate in IT, Computer Science, or related field of study.
- 5+ years experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, and project closures.
- 5+ years experience successfully implementing IT solutions in environments with project resources from multiple teams or organizations.
- 5+ years currently active PMP or PGMP Certification as issued by the Project Management Institute or equivalent (attach a copy of the certificate).
- 3+ years (recent) demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, or supporting solutions aimed at citizen engagement or citizen access to personal health information (Ministry of Health, Health Canada - provincial or federal government).
- 3+ years (recent) demonstrated experience working in the health industry and knowledge of business practices, information, data, and technology requirements.
- 3+ years (recent) experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including at the executive level.
- 3+ years (recent) experience developing change management deliverables including Change Strategy and Plans, Training Strategy and Plans, Stakeholder Impact Assessments, Communication Strategy and Plans.
Responsibilities :
- Compile project charters and business/project plans to support activities, including selecting the most suitable approach to ensure business objectives and data integrity are achieved.
- Manage projects that document business requirements, design, and deliver IT solutions aligned with the Ministry's enterprise architecture and overall objectives.
- Assist in developing recommendations, including resource needs, dependencies, policy implications, and methodologies.
- Produce and present deliverables to support teams, steering committees, and external stakeholders.
- Develop partnerships through consultations and engagement sessions to gather input on key issues and requirements.
- Manage multiple projects, resources, and governance processes.
- Coordinate with project sponsors to ensure effective communication and escalate risks as needed.
- Build and sustain stakeholder relationships, resolving hurdles for mutually beneficial solutions.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, timeline, resources, risks, benefits, and budgets.
- Define project roles and responsibilities with the project management office.
- Track and report project status, issues, and risks, and facilitate closure.
- Develop schedules, estimate resources, and monitor progress, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Guide project resources in prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely delivery.
- Document requirements and assess project outcomes for continuous improvement.
- Manage delivery components and operational considerations for new systems, including stakeholder engagement, change management, and communication activities.
Additional information to suppliers
This is a Hybrid role with standard hours from 8:15 to 4:30, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. Work must be performed within Canada. The resource may need to attend in-office meetings on reasonable notice, with travel expenses covered by the Province.
Equipment requirements :
If directed to work in-person, the Province will provide necessary equipment. The resource must provide their own computer with a modern Windows or MacOS operating system compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Windows is preferred for better compatibility. AVD/software will be installed remotely.
