Minimum Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certification
  • Two years of experience within an oil and gas operations facility and/or pipelines operations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
  • An adaptive work style with an ability to handle multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic work environment
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities:

  • Support the safety culture at Suncor with a focus on ensuring operating equipment is reliable, maintained to our expectations and safe to operate
  • Participate actively in pipeline integrity projects such as completion of regularly scheduled weekly pipeline pigging, coordinating and supervising use of pipeline inspection tools and participate in integrity dig programs
  • Report and appropriately flag all pipeline facility sites issues beyond your scope to your leader
  • Prepare and complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings in a timely manner
  • Provide direction and supervision to the maintenance and contract personnel
  • Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs

Location & Other Key Details:

  • You will work out of Voyageur Pipelines office in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a 12-hour rotation of days (Seven days on / Seven days off). On-call phone is shared between team members on a shift rotation.
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • Travel between remote locations next to nature utilizing ATV’s / UTV’s as needed
