Parts and Field Service is now looking for enthusiastic Field Service Engineers to join our skilled team in Canada.

What will you be doing?

This role is open to applicants in Canada to support external and internal customers across various time zones. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates.

The position reports to the Coordinator of Field Service Resources.

We seek candidates to join our fast-paced, high-performance Field Service Operations team (AMER). The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, high performance, and self-motivation.

Accountabilities
  • Perform service activities such as overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke marine diesel engines.
  • Have technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul.
  • Maintain a safety-first attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke engines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and system integration issues on engines and ancillary equipment.
  • Interact professionally with customers during work execution.
  • Commission service products.
  • Lead onsite teams and manage activities during work execution.
  • Provide progress updates on work orders to customers and stakeholders.
  • Create Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure work complies with Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Seek continuous improvement solutions.
Qualifications
  • Passion for advancing knowledge in 4-stroke engines.
  • Relevant technical education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in reciprocating engine repair, overhaul, and related systems.
  • Experience with turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems.
  • Professional interaction and solution delivery during work.
  • Experience with medium speed 4-stroke engines and electrical systems is beneficial.

Physical & Mental Demands

Travel Requirements

Position requires 70%+ travel, including domestic and international, onshore and offshore, with extended periods away from the primary work location.
