Job summary

The Child Development Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon seeks an Early Learning Inclusion Coach for full-time, permanent or term position beginning January 2027. You will coach educators and one-to-one support workers in inclusive practices, group dynamics and behavior, and collaborate to evaluate learning environments for developmental impact while leading short-term therapeutic groups.

Travel within Yukon is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of early childhood education or development or a related degree with 2 years’ experience working in an early learning program.
• Experience working in an early learning program, using a collaborative model of service.
• Experience implementing inclusion practices in a group setting.
• Knowledge of theories and strategies related to group dynamics, co-regulation and social emotional development and developmentally appropriate child-led, play-based programming.
• Knowledge of issues pertaining to early childhood educators, early childhood settings and children with developmental needs.
• Familiarity with observation tools that consider practice in early learning programs.
• Ability to effectively teach and coach new skills to adults with a variety of learning styles.
• Excellent organization and oral and written communication skills; and
• Experience working in a cross-cultural setting.

Starting January 2027

Excellent opportunity to join the Early Learning Program Support team with theChild Development Centre, which provides early intervention services to children from birth to 5 years of age. Responsibilities include working in partnership with early childhood programs to coach educators and one-to-one support workers in inclusive practices, group dynamics and behavior, as well as collaborating to evaluate the learning environment and potential effects on development and group interactions, and leading short-term therapeutic groups. Travel within Yukon is required.

Salary

• Salary range is $44.31 - $53.92 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
