The Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the childrens program operates smoothly. They must possess a combination of leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. In addition, demonstrate compassion, patience, and a genuine love for working with children.
The supervisor is responsible for supporting and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centre, specifically the childrens program by providing support and direction for the Early Childhood Educators in planning and implementing play-based, open-ended learning activities and play experiences, and ensuring there is a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families that provides high quality service.
Qualifications
ECE level 1 or 2 or equivalent
1 year experience in a childcare setting, preferably with supervisory responsibilities
Current First Aid and CPR C
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Knowledge of childrens development and appropriate childrens program practices
Up to date immunizations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and staff
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Commitment to support the assistant director and childrens program responsibilities
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft office
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Flexible schedule
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Compassion, patience, and genuine love for working with children
