Job description

Developmental Disabilities Association has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Educator in our Early Learning & Youth Services programs. You bring a great attitude backed up with completed ECE certification and at least one year experience in the field. Our Child Development Centers are fully inclusive and are designed to bring out the best in children and families alike. Job Details
  • Job Title: Early Childhood Educator | #2019
  • Service Area: Early Learning & Youth Services
  • Location: Kids at GF Strong Child Development Centre
  • Start Date: June 10, 2025
  • Term/Status: Permanent Full-Time
  • Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:45-16:45 (37.5 hours/week)
  • Hourly Wage: $28.25 as per collective agreement (Note: DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP collective agreement rates; WE funding is not paid above the ECE wage.)
The Role

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides an enriched program for children that meets the needs of the families in the community. The ECE also creates opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact daily. The ECE works with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met.

Education & Experience
  • Completion of BC Early Childhood Education Certification
  • Completion of Infant Toddler Certification
  • Completion of Special Needs Certification (preferred)
  • Related training/certification in children with special needs (asset)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with Infants and/or Toddlers
  • Experience with functional assessment of special needs, individual and group program design and evaluation
  • Experience in Behavior Management
Requirements

Standard requirements for the Early Childhood Educator include:

  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
