Developmental Disabilities Association has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Educator in our Child and Youth Services programs. You bring a great attitude backed up with completed ECE certification and at least one year experience in the field.   • Location: Berwick Child Development Centre
  • Start Date: June 9, 2025
  • Term/Status: Permanent Part-Time
  • Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30-15:00 (32.5 hours/week)
  • Hourly Wage: $28.25 per hour as per collective agreement (Note: DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP collective agreement rates; WE funding is not paid above the ECE wage.)
The Role

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides an enriched program for children that meet the needs of the families in the community. The ECE also provides opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact daily. The ECE works in conjunction with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met.

Education & Experience
  • Completion of BC Early Childhood Education Certification
  • Completion of Special Needs certification
  • Related training/certification in the area of children with special needs is an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Experience with functional assessment for special needs, individual and group program design and evaluation
  • Experience in behavior management
Requirements

Standard requirements of the Early Childhood Educator include:

  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
