Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care is seeking an Early Childhood Educator - Level 1, 2 or 3 in Sherwood Park, AB. You will work with teachers and families to create a home away from home for children, implementing BrightPath’s curriculum and supporting development.

You will collaborate with parents and staff, maintain safety and cleanliness, participate in meetings and professional development, and help nurture a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education - Level 2 Certification OR B.Ed./Equivalent
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• First Aid and infant CPR
• Immunization and health assessment as per local requirements

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a program aligned with BrightPath's curriculum to support children's development
• Maintaining an environment that protects children's well-being
• Assessing abilities, interests and needs of children and discussing progress with parents and staff
• Establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers, management and families
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom materials
• Other duties as assigned

Pay Range: $17 - $19 per hour, Government Wage Enhancement offered on top of hourly rate

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator - Level 1, 2 or 3 you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education - Level 2 Certification OR B.Ed./Equivalent
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
