Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Sherwood Park, AB is seeking an Early Childhood Educator - Level 1, 2 or 3 on a casual basis. You will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing a BrightPath curriculum, maintaining a safe, clean classroom, assessing children's needs and progress with parents, and collaborating with colleagues.

Qualifications

• ECE Level 2 Certification or B.Ed./Equivalent is required.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR are required.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath curriculum.

• Assess children’s abilities, interests and progress; discuss with parents and staff.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator - Level 1, 2 or 3 you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education - Level 2 Certification OR B.Ed./Equivalent
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
