Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Edmonton is seeking an Early Childhood Educator-Level 1 to work with teachers and families, providing a nurturing home-away-from-home environment for children. You will implement BrightPath’s curriculum, support development, and maintain a clean, safe classroom.

The role requires ECE Level 3 Certification or equivalent, current First Aid & CPR, relevant provincial requirements, and immunization health checks.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education requirements: ECE Level 3 Certification or B.Ed./Equivalent.
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a program aligned with BrightPath’s curriculum to support child development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment for children.
• Assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs and discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Establish collaborative relationships with coworkers, management, and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.
• Support daily routines and transitions and maintain classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Educator-Level 1, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Early Childhood Education - Level 3 Certification OR B.Ed./Equivalent
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
