Job summary

The YMCA of Regina has a full-time ECE opportunity at our Moose Jaw centre. The successful candidate will foster children's development through play and learning, guided by the YMCA’s Playing to Learn Curriculum, an interest- and play-based approach that lets kids learn at their own pace.

We welcome applicants with Early Childhood Education Level I–III certification, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in a structured childcare setting.

Qualifications

• ECE certification required.
• Experience in a structured childcare environment is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations while fostering teamwork.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness.
• Engage in stimulating age-appropriate activities to promote developmental growth through the implementation of the YMCA’s Playing to Learn Curriculum.
• Maintain a clean & healthy workplace according to public health & YMCA standards.
• Demonstrate a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, and team members.

The YMCA of Regina follows a particular Playing to Learn Curriculum, an interest and play‑based way of teaching. This curriculum focuses on allowing children the freedom to learn at their own pace, develop valuable skills and reach developmental milestones, all while having fun.

Job Requirements

• Early Childhood Education Level I‑III Certification.

• Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
• Criminal Record Check (original) with vulnerable sector check dated within 3 months of hire.
• Current: Standard First Aid, CPR.
• Play & Exploration Training an asset.
