Job summary

Trimark People Solutions is hiring an ECD Manager to lead the ‘Na̱mǥis ECD Team in delivering services for children aged 0-12 and their families. You will ensure program operations meet regulatory standards and community needs.

You will collaborate with Elders and Knowledge Keepers, promote programs across the community, monitor budgets, and provide staff development to maintain high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education Care or equivalent.
• Experience with Indigenous children, families or communities.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Clear criminal record check for working with children.
• Experience with community engagement and relationship-building.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Early Childhood Development (ECD) Manager to lead the ‘Na̱mǥis ECD Team in developing and implementing services for parents and children ages 0-12 that support healthy growth and development. This role oversees the development, efficient operation, and delivery of Early Childhood Development programs in accordance with legislative regulations, ‘Na̱mǥis policies, and commonly accepted practice standards while ensuring program goals and community needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Leadership & Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of ‘Na̱mǥis Child Care Services for children ages 0-12 and their families while ensuring quality service delivery and program effectiveness.
• Program Planning & Development: Actively participate in the planning, development, and implementation of early childhood programs, services, and activities that promote healthy child development and family well-being.
• Program Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor, develop, implement, and evaluate ECD programs to ensure contractual obligations are met with funding agencies and services align with community needs.
• Family & Community Engagement: Promote engagement of on- and off-reserve families with children by increasing accessibility to services and identifying service gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Staff Development: Increase staff expertise and communication skills through training opportunities, workshops, conferences, and ongoing professional development.
• Partnerships & Collaboration: Network with community agencies and partners to enhance supports and services for families living on and off reserve. Build strong relationships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers to ensure meaningful cultural involvement in programs.
• Community Promotion & Outreach: Promote programs and events through social media, the ‘Na̱mǥis website, newsletters, and other community engagement opportunities.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage program spending and regularly consult with the Director regarding budgets and program operations.
• Administrative Support: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the success of ECD programming.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education Care considered an asset; Early Childhood Education Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with Indigenous children, families, and/or Indigenous communities.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Clear criminal record check related to working with children and vulnerable adults.
• Experience with community engagement and strong interpersonal relationship-building skills.
• Experience in program and event planning.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan programs and events well in advance.
• Ability and desire to collaborate internally and externally to ensure accountability and successful program delivery.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the history and culture of the ‘Na̱mǥis people considered an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including letter writing, grant writing, and reporting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage complex details effectively.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
• Ability to manage conflict and group dynamics in a professional manner.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and some statutory holidays.

Salary

• Compensation is based on the ‘Na̱mǥis Salary Grid $62,058 - $72,722
• Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning and midpoint of the range.
• Pursuant to Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference may be given to qualified applicants of Aboriginal ancestry.
