Job summary

Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation is hiring two full-time, permanent Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) for Ekwaamjigenang Children's Centre (ECC) and Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care (MMCC). The RECE will deliver a safe, inclusive and culturally enriched learning environment for young children, emphasizing Anishinaabe culture and land-based learning.

The role requires a Diploma in ECE, AECEO certification, and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood

Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing.
• Experience with children aged 0–6 including placements.
• Knowledge of HDLH framework and inclusive programming.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver childcare programs compliant with regulations.
• Plan inclusive activities supporting development.
• Integrate Anishinaabe culture and language into routines.
• Maintain safe, clean environments and supervise children.
• Document development using observations and Storypark.
• Collaborate with families and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, inclusive programming that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Integrate Anishinaabe cultural teachings, language, and land-based learning into daily routines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment with proper supervision of children at all times
• Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners
• Document and communicate children's development through pedagogical tools (e.g., observations, Storypark)
• Participate in program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support team collaboration, mentor students, and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Qualifications & Experience We are looking for candidates who bring:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized institution or equivalent
• Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Certification with the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (AECEO)
• Experience working with children ages 0–6 (including student placements)
• Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) framework
• Strong understanding of child development, inclusive programming, and positive guidance strategies
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment

Assets:

• Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, teachings, and language
• Experience with Storypark or similar documentation tools
