Job summary

The Foray Group is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to support the Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in planning and delivering daily activities for children aged infants to school age at our North York centre.

You will help maintain a high-quality, safe environment, observe and respond to each child’s needs, and communicate openly with families and staff. This is a full-time, on-site role with a focus on development and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Up-to-date First Aid and CPR.
  • Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test.
  • Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age).
  • Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities.
  • Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
  • Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
  • Supports the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
  • Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom.

Job description

Position Title: ECA
Reports to: Centre Director
Location: 15 San Romano Way, North York ON M3N 2Y9
Compensation Package: We offer a comprehensive compensation package:

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, within the hours of 7 am – 6 pm
The Organization

Centres for Early Learning, fully licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Toronto Children’s Services, is made up of ten childcare centres serving communities in various high need areas of Toronto and Milton, Ontario. The Role

The ECA is responsible for supporting the RECE, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children. Their principle responsibilities include: maintaining a high quality environment, assessing, observing and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members and always exemplifying professionalism.
