Job summary

WSP in Canada seeks an Early Professional, Environmental Engineering in St. Catharines to join our Waste Management and Hydrogeological team. You will engage in field investigations, environmental monitoring, and reporting to support practical, responsible solutions.

You will build hands-on experience across monitoring, sampling, data interpretation, and technical writing while collaborating with engineers and geoscientists. Ontario registration progress is expected, with travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geoscience, or geological engineering.
• Eligibility for registration as a PE Ontario or PGeo Ontario (ongoing).
• Exposure to environmental, geotechnical, or geo-environmental field work is an asset.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, regulations, and site data.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Strong reporting, data-analysis, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to monitoring programs at aggregate sites, landfills, contaminated sites, and other project locations.
• Deliver groundwater, surface water, soil sampling and testing using established procedures and quality standards.
• Support drilling, test pitting, and other subsurface investigations that help teams understand geological and hydrogeological conditions.
• Collaborate with technicians, geoscientists, and engineers to turn reliable field observations into informed project decisions.
• Produce organized field records and support the management, analysis, and interpretation of chemical, hydrogeological, and geotechnical data.
• Strengthen safe project delivery by following WSP policies, procedures, and site-specific health and safety plans.
