Job summary

WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm, is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to join the Mine Water & Environment team. Based in Canada, you will lead and support contaminated site investigations and remediation projects on legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites, across Canada and internationally.

Qualifications

• A degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Progressive experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, with exposure to mine sites and complex environmental projects.
• Professional registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer, Professional Geoscientist, or equivalent regulatory body.
• Project management experience involving contaminant characterization, remediation design, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong knowledge of environmental chemistry, geology, contaminant fate and transport, conceptual site model development, and remediation planning.
• Experience developing or reviewing technical specifications, design drawings, quantitative analyses, reports, and graphical materials for remediation projects.
• Experience planning and supporting field programs, with northern or remote project experience considered an asset and a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to guide early-career staff, apply QA/QC, communicate findings clearly, and contribute to proposals and practice growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead contaminated site investigation and remediation work that advances responsible management of legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites.
• Develop conceptual site models and interpret data to guide defensible remediation decisions.
• Deliver contaminated material management plans, remediation plans, technical specifications, design inputs, reports, and presentations.
• Manage day-to-day project delivery with technical leads and client teams, aligning scope, quality, schedule, budget, and objectives.
• Collaborate on targeted field programs in northern and remote environments with safety and QA/QC in all stages.
• Mentor early-career professionals and strengthen WSP's Mine Water & Environment practice through leadership and knowledge sharing.
