Role Overview

This is a Senior Manager, Data Governance role to join our growing team and help us scale our enterprise-wide data governance efforts across Legal, Regulatory Compliance, and Procurement functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Own the full program lifecycle of data governance: design, rollout, training, documentation, compliance tracking.
  2. Interpret complex directives (including AI-related) and translate them into actionable programs for business units.
  3. Act as a thought leader and educator; delivering training, creating templates, and running regular governance forums.
  4. Drive policy adherence, readiness for audits, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  5. Build and manage project roadmaps with clear milestones, prioritizing risks and business needs.
Who You Are
  • A senior-level data governance professional with banking or financial industry experience.
  • You’ve led enterprise-wide programs and are hands-on in both strategy and execution.
  • Strong communicator, educator, and facilitator; comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • You thrive in complex, regulated environments and know how to navigate large enterprise structures.
What You Bring
  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality, or data management; preferably at a Senior Manager level.
  • Experience in designing and rolling out programs.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including mentoring and supervising mid-level professionals.
  • Familiarity with procurement or legal/regulatory compliance data is an asset.

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, with in-office collaboration expected minimum two days per week.

Responsibilities include creating and implementing an integrated roadmap for all aspects of data governance, maintaining and monitoring policies and procedures, deploying technologies, ensuring compliance, and aligning data strategy with business objectives. Also, fostering a data-centric culture that adheres to regulations and reduces risk.

Qualifications
  • Intermediate proficiency in information and data strategy, managing change.
  • Advanced proficiency in privacy governance technology, data privacy, enterprise data management, ontology design, master data management, data governance, IT standards, data integrity, quality, metadata management, communication skills, analytical skills, influence, collaboration, managing ambiguity, and data-driven decision making.
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
Compensation & Benefits
