Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Speech Pathology, the successful candidate will prioritize referrals, assess, and develop and implement individual and group treatment programs to ensure optimal patient care for the assigned caseload. The role involves providing treatment to patients at multiple sites.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner.
  • Valid BC driver's license required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and instructional skills.
  • Ability to organize individual and group treatment programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professional disciplines, hospital staff, patients, families, and external agencies.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
