Job description

Kelly Services is seeking a Collections Specialist for a full-time, permanent position with our client — a top-tier debt recovery law firm located in Mississauga, ON.

Primary Duties:

• Recovery Action on delinquent Accounts, including contact with debtors, discussing repayment and guiding where necessary with a view to achieving recovery of the account.

• Ability to perform skip tracing and attention to detail in determining avenues for debt recovery.

• Maintaining account history on the internal collections system

• Ensuring adherence to client directives

• Ensuring the achievement of various client centered and company targets.

• Determining whether customer files are actionable via legal remedies and preparing support for same

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of collections experience, preferably within banks or financial institutions

• Proven background in recovering delinquent accounts including mortgages, lines of credit, and automobile loans

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in legal or a related field is an asset

• Proficient in industry-standard collections software and able to quickly learn and adapt to proprietary or custom-built systems

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and handle sensitive customer interactions professionally

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail

• Technologically proficient, with strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and contribute to a high-performing collections team
