Job description

eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

About the Role :

Reporting to the Director – Project Management Office, the Senior Project Manager is accountable to provide leadership, direction, and project management expertise to enable the effective implementation of multiple projects across eHealth’s organizations. This role will provide high level support for large scale projects and provide support from initiation through to final implementation. This includes leading multifunctional and cross divisional project teams on people, process, and technology projects of medium to high risk and complexity.

Specific responsibilities include :

  • Accountable for all aspects of the project (or phase) over the entire project life.
  • Accountable for procurement, managing vendor relations, partner relations and managing end user expectations.
  • Responsible for communicating status to project sponsors.
  • Responsible for financial reporting.
  • Organizing and directing work including prioritizing assignments, providing regular performance feedback, and taking necessary corrective action as may be required.
  • Managing business analyst direct reports, providing direction, coaching, and career development.
  • Accountable for promoting a productive and positive environment for project staff that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative, and models corporate values.

Experience & Qualifications :

  • 5 years’ experience in project management leadership or equivalent with demonstrated success in delivering large and complex projects in an IT setting with constraints of budget, timelines, and resources.
  • 3 years’ experience with project procurement and vendor management.
  • Post-secondary education at the University or Technical Institute level in one of the following : Information Technology / Business Administration / Health Sciences.

  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, methodologies, and related practices, e.g. Project Management Institute’s (PMI) PMBOK, PRINCE2 and Prosci Change Management.

  • A change agent who is not threatened or intimidated by change and uncertainty.
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities.

  • Ability to communicate complex issues to project teams in an effective manner.
  • A conceptual thinker with excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, and consulting skills.

  • Ability to navigate and build strong relationships in a large, complex multi-enterprise environment that includes customers with difficult and / or competing needs.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and synthesize specialized information in a way that can be applied to meet the needs of the organization and customer within given constraints.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing through e-mails, notes, presentations, phone calls, and face-to-face conversations. This also includes the ability to adapt their communication for their audience to help with understanding.
  • Ability to train and transfer technical knowledge to clients.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with all levels to achieve results.

Technical:

  • Ability to understand and integrate appropriate project management tools and processes.
  • Ability to apply / obtain the necessary subject matter expertise (SME).
  • Knowledge of business case analysis and development.

  • Ability to focus on the tasks and motivate others to ensure they work on project goals.
  • Model integrity and inclusiveness by being open, acting with empathy, sharing resources / knowledge across teams and being respectful of all skills and viewpoints.
