Primary function
As a member of the IT Quality Assurance & Corporate Analysts group, the Corporate Business Analyst (CBA) will be assigned to multiple concurrent approved IT application related projects and/or agile sprints. The CBA will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business needs and translate them into technical requirements or agile stories. The CBA will work closely with the Lead, IT Programs, Products and Project Delivery, stakeholders, developers, and Project Managers to ensure the development of high-quality solutions align with business goals. The CBA will gather and prioritizing requirements, write user stories, and provide assistance in the overall sprint planning and execution process .The CBA will be also be responsible for documenting the system requirements and support the development of the detailed functional design specifications, liaising with developer(s) and technical team(s) to ensure that the system solution/build meets the business purpose and functional use..

Key accountabilities
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements.
• Understand business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for automation or improvement.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis to define business requirements.
• Conduct business process reviews, journey mapping, and user experience validation
• Write clear, concise, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Break down complex business requirements into manageable user stories for the development team.
• Collaborate with the IT Lead and Project Manager to ensure user stories are aligned with business priorities.
• Write clear and concise functional design specification documents
• Define the specifications to meet the business objectives and of the product being designed or built.
• Evaluate business output requirements and formats to be able to determine and recommend the most appropriate system design solution to address the functional requirement(s)
• Analyze and potentially evaluate existing and new systems to verify a match to the business requirement.
• Construct workflow charts and process and system diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing system specifications, and other supporting architectural documents
• Work closely with the IT Lead and IT PM to scope out the system requirements specifically as it related to business system
solution change and technical specifications
• Preparing test case scenarios to support DAT, FAT, UAT testing of the functional requirements or user stories
• Support IT QA team during testing cycles/coordinating UAT, based on project need or sprints
• Daily monitoring of ServiceNow requests and troubleshooting business system application production issues
• Flexible to other responsibilities within role.
Required skills & experience
• Computer science degree or IT relevant working experience and IT Certifications.
• 5 + years in an IT business analyst role
• Familiarity with business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SWOT analysis, process mapping
• Strong Analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions
• Experience in stakeholder management and working closely with cross-functional teams
• 3 + years Business Analyst experience in an Agile environment
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Experience in writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria and managing a product backlog
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow Agile Development application or similar Agile tools
• Understanding of IT systems, software development processes, and technical terminology
• 3+ years' in-depth experience in two or more of the following applications; MS Office 365 suite cloud technologies, MS Dynamic CRM, Oracle PeopleSoft CRM and Financials, Oracle Service Cloud Intelligent Advisor, and ServiceNow
• 3 + years of experience with design and implementation of digital B2C customer service solutions including knowledge management and digital customer service(s)/ assistant technologies.
• Experience and knowledge of predictive customer service technologies such as automation, AI and machine learning.
• SQL query writing experience
• Business intelligence Financials data reconciliation experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Developer background is an asset
• CBAP, ServiceNow, Microsoft, Oracle certification(s) is an asset
