Job description

Our Payroll Manager is responsible for oversight of the full payroll process and the team in the Pacific region, covering British Columbia and Yukon.

Requirements

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Payroll team members, ensuring high quality work product and that overall service levels are maintained
  • Review and approve payroll records
  • Oversee benefits enrolments, adjustments, and renewals
  • Ensure timely remittances of various payroll withholdings, WCB payments, Union payments, benefits invoices, etc.
  • Facilitate payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide direction and respond to escalated inquiries from the Payroll team, managers, and employees
  • Provide support and guidance for other departments
  • Stay up-to-date on employment standards and collective bargaining agreements
  • Prepare year-end reports and documentation as required by government agencies
  • Other duties as required to assist with organizational needs

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a unionized environment, interpreting and applying principles of collective agreements
  • Experience managing a team
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll practices, CRA, and federal legislation
  • Strong computer proficiency in payroll software and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)

This position is an 18-month Maternity Leave contract.

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000

This position will be fully office-based at our office in Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
