The Operational Strategy & Reporting Department is an integral part of our end-to-end operations, employing standardized approaches to strategic service delivery and reporting through the One YVR approach.

Position overview

Are you a seasoned leader with extensive expertise in contract management, capable of guiding every phase from planning to execution? Do you have proven experience collaborating effectively with third-party service providers and understanding how their performance aligns with our broader service delivery goals?

We offer a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Manager, Contracts. Reporting to the Director of Operational Strategy & Reporting, the successful candidate will develop and implement Contract Management Plans for YVR Operations, establish key performance indicators, develop protocols to mitigate risks, and address concerns. This role will also lead the team responsible for service level reporting, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives, while managing supplier relationships, ensuring contract compliance, and monitoring financial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Identify potential contract risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations as needed.
  2. Manage operations contracts by overseeing service level reporting, performance metrics, ensuring reporting accuracy from service providers, identifying improvement areas, and monitoring compliance issues.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams such as Legal, Finance, and Supply Management to ensure contract requirements are met and understood.
  4. Facilitate performance discussions with service providers, conduct reviews, and address improvement areas through collaborative problem-solving.
  5. Participate in annual business planning and budgeting processes, while managing the departmental budget.
  6. Support team members by monitoring performance, providing coaching, offering technical expertise, and guiding professional development.
  7. Require a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in contract management, supplemented by a university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  8. At least 3 years in a leadership role, demonstrating exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  9. Possess in-depth knowledge of contract management concepts, principles, practices, and techniques, with expertise in private and public sector best practices throughout the contract management cycle.
  10. Have a proven track record of creatively structuring commercial solicitations and relationship designs to meet organizational needs and adapt to market conditions.
  11. Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and delivering impactful presentations.
  12. Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
