Job Summary:



The Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for ordering, making accessible, and managing all electronic content, including databases, eBooks and ejournals, in collaboration with colleagues in technical and research services. They will troubleshoot access issues for these resources in a timely fashion, and gather and maintain acquisition and usage reports in support of assessment and accreditation. In addition, they will provide support and back-up to the Budget and Resource Management Librarian, which could include ordering collections and supplies and supporting budget management.



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in Library Science or Library/Information Science.

  • 3 - 5 years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of electronic resource management.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.



Essential Functions:




  • Works within ExLibris Alma and Primo VE and OCLC's EZProxy to ensure discoverability of electronic content in the Library's catalog, discovery layer, and on the Library's website.

  • Resolves electronic content access issues in a timely fashion.

  • Gathers and maintains e-resource usage and other assessment metrics to support collection management decisions and accreditation needs.

  • Collaborates with the Metadata and Resource Management Librarian and the Digital Technologies Administrator to ensure electronic resource integration with other systems.

  • Supports the Budget and Resource Management Librarian in resource ordering and basic budget management in their absence.

  • Stays abreast of developments in librarianship and higher education through attendance at meetings, workshops, membership in professional associations, and the reading of professional literature.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Preferred Qualifications:




Prior experience with ExLibris, PrimoVE, and/or EZProxy.

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.



  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity - Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.

  • Tuition Benefits:

    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.

    • University pays 100% tuition only.

    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.




*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the University.
