Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Executive Vice-President, the Director of Quality oversees the administration of the Quality Branch, including the Security Department, and manages the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Assurance Program to ensure compliance with the Company Quality Policy.
What You Will Do:
- Provide management and leadership for the Quality Branch, including:
- Maintaining the Quality Program Manual;
- Product support;
- Procedure evaluations and compliance;
- Product-oriented procedure evaluations;
- Managing quality records;
- Conducting quality cost analysis;
- Vendor and subcontractor surveys and audits;
- Preparing and maintaining quality bulletins and system procedures;
- Participating in material review and warranty review boards;
- Conducting failure analysis;
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing procedures to compare materials, facilities, work processes, and personnel skills with standards;
- Liaising with functional managers to resolve technical problems;
- Preparing reports and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders;
- Managing the internal quality audit system;
- Liaising with customer representatives on quality matters;
- Carrying out functions of the Director of Quality as per the division's quality program documentation;
- Maintaining organizational and personnel performance records;
- Performing other duties as delegated by the EVP.
What You Will Bring:
- Graduate engineer, technologist, or equivalent training and experience;
- 7-10 years of management experience in R&D/Manufacturing, with at least 5 years in Quality Control/Quality Assurance;
- Familiarity with aerospace quality assurance procedures;
- Strong background in aerospace quality standards like ISO 9000, AS9100;
- Knowledge of Transport Canada CARs, Continuous Improvement, and TQM;
- Effective leadership and communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Experience working in team environments;
- Preference for candidates with aerospace industry experience;
- Eligibility to meet ITAR and Canadian Controlled Goods Program requirements;
- Ability to pass and maintain a Level II (Secret) security clearance.
