Position Overview

Under the direction of the Executive Vice-President, the Director, Quality oversees the administration of the Quality Branch, including the Security Department, and administers the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Assurance Program to assure compliance with the Company Quality Policy.


What You Will Do

  1. Provide overall management and leadership for the Quality Branch, in addition to the following responsibilities:
  2. Maintenance of the Quality Program Manual;
  3. Product Support;
  4. Procedure Evaluations and Compliances;
  5. Product Oriented Procedure Evaluations;
  6. Quality Records;
  7. Quality Cost Analysis;
  8. Vendor Surveys and Audits;
  9. Subcontractor Surveys and Audits;
  10. Preparation and maintenance of Quality Bulletins;
  11. Preparation and maintenance of Quality System Procedures;
  12. Material Review Boards;
  13. Warranty Review Boards;
  14. Failure Analysis;
  15. The development, maintenance and implementation of procedures which compare material, facilities, work processes and personnel skills with established standards;
  16. Liaise with functional managers in the resolution of technical problems;
  17. Prepare reports and correspondence for internal and external distribution;
  18. Internal Quality Audit System;
  19. Liaise with Customer Representatives on Quality matters;
  20. Carry out the functions of the Director Quality as identified throughout the Division’s approved quality program documentation set;
  21. Maintain organization and personnel performance records;
  22. Other duties as delegated by the EVP.

What You Will Bring

  1. Graduate Engineer, Technologist or an equivalent background of training and experience.
  2. 7-10 years management experience in an R&O/Manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in the Quality Control/Quality Assurance field.
  3. Must be conversant with Quality Assurance Procedures related to the Aerospace Industry.
  4. Strong Quality background with extensive experience within the Aerospace field. Familiar with the Quality requirements of ISO 9000, AS9100.
  5. Transport Canada CARs, as well as knowledge of Continuous Improvement and TQM concepts and processes.
  6. Able to provide effective leadership and work well with all levels of workers and management; clear and concise writing ability.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills.
  8. Proven leadership abilities.
  9. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Risk assessment capabilities.
  11. Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment.
  12. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Aerospace Industry.
  13. The successful applicants will be eligible to meet requirements for the U.S. International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
  14. Applicant must be able to pass and maintain a Level II (Secret) security clearance with the Department of National Defence.
